The Wonders of the World from sugar paste and chocolate at GastroPan 2020

The biggest competition dedicated to promoting innovations, but also the talents of the bakery, pastry, confectionery and HoReCa industries will take place in Romania, Arad, at the Expo Arad exhibition center, March 12-14, 2020, within GastroPan exhibition. GastroPan is the most important yearly international exhibition for the bakery, pastry, confectionery, gastronomy, ice cream, coffee and HoReCa sectors in Southeastern Europe. Have a look at the short retrospective video of GastroPan 2019 exhibition:  The 9 competition categories are grouped into 3 sections and will highlight the creativity of the contestants, the latest trends in taste, design, texture, decoration and service. We will find out who wins the Bread of the Year 2020 (industrial and artisan) and the Cake of the Year 2020 trophies.

The performance of the contestants will be rewarded by the organizers with trophies, certificates, medals and special prizes from the sponsors, while the companies they represent will benefit from free media promotion both in the specialized press and the media channels present at the event. Registrations for GastroPan Competitions are open until February 20.


The CONFECTIONERY section will take place on Thursday, March 12, and will present the most delicious cakes with indigenous fruits made by pastry chefs from all over Romania, along with artistic pieces made of sugar paste and works of art from chocolate. The theme of artistic creations will be The Wonders of the World.

Bakers from all over Romania will compete at the BAKERY-PASTRY section, on Friday, March 13. This section will reward the most delicious pastry products designed for children with gluten intolerance, the most impressive artistic creations made of bread dough (the theme of this category will be Cities of the Future), moreover, we will find out who wins the Industrial Bread of the Year 2020 and Artisan Bread of the Year 2020 trophies.

The GASTRONOMY section will be held on Saturday, March 14th. In this section chefs will compete to find out who makes the most special culinary dishes, while in another category culinary sculpture enthusiasts will carve artistic pieces from vegetables and fruits. The theme of this category is Wedding.
