Rigorous evaluation process
For nearly 20 years, the International Taste Institute has conducted blind tastings with an international jury of gastronomy experts. This year saw an increase in submissions, with more products from the same brands, reflecting a commitment to consistent taste quality across product lines.
The 2024 Superior Taste Award
The Superior Taste Award is granted to products meeting or surpassing the expectations of a professional jury. Evaluations are based on sensory characteristics including first impression, vision, olfaction, texture and taste. Only products scoring above 70% receive the award. - 60 Crystal Taste Awards were given to products earning 3 stars for 3 consecutive years
- 20 Diamond Taste Awards went to products earning 3 stars 7 times over 10 years.
Romanian products excel across all categories
Once again, Romanian producers have distinguished themselves with their unwavering commitment to taste quality. Spanning a wide array of categories including waters, sweets, dairy products, meat and many others, Romanian products have garnered excellent scores across the board. This achievement further underscores the dedication of Romanian producers to satisfying even the most discerning palates on the international culinary stage. Among the producers several awards for Dacia Dining Brand, Nisre, A&A farms, Merryberry, Valvis, Aquavia, La Fantana and many others.
Placing taste at the heart of food & beverage brands
Laurent van Wassenhove, Managing Director of the International Taste Institute, noted that more brands are submitting their entire product range for evaluation, emphasizing quality taste. “Eating is about pleasure and feeling good. Producers know that creating an enjoyable eating experience is key to retaining customers.”
Awarded producers can use the Superior Taste Award label on their packaging and marketing materials, adding credibility to their campaigns.
Gastronomy experts at the service of consumer products
The International Taste Institute’s jury includes Michelin-starred chefs, MOFs and winners of respected competitions, all passionate about quality gastronomy.

Founded in 2005 and based in Brussels, Belgium, the International Taste Institute evaluates and certifies the taste of foods and drinks from around the world with a jury of over 200 renowned chefs and sommeliers from 15 European associations.
More than 20.000 products have been certified by the jury, which includes prestigious names such as Christian Brancaleoni, Gabriel Biscay, Ferran Vila-Pujol, Michael Vanderhaeghe, Bernard Vaussion and Julie Dupouy.
